WiFi and Campus Library access

All alumni visiting our Harrow campus can request access to the guest WiFi network, which can be used anywhere on campus. Please visit the main reception to register.

Alumni in possession of a valid Alumni Association card can also access the Library for reference purposes for free. Alumni wishing to borrow books can join the library at the discounted rate of £30 per annum.

For more information on applying for an Alumni Association card, please click here.

Please note that during the exceptionally busy exam periods throughout October and the month following Easter, alumni reference users will be unable to access the library as our study space and resources are in high demand by current students. Where possible, we kindly request that Alumni users with borrowing rights also try and avoid the Library at these times.

Alumni of the Month

Take a look at our Alumni of the Month to find out more about our featured alumni and their CRC experience.

Published alumni

Find details of published authors and academics in our Published alumni section.

We always want to hear from previous alumni. If you would like to tell us what you have been doing since graduating, please get in touch.

The support of our alumni is invaluable and plays a vital role in helping us promote Christ The Redeemer College to future students and ensuring our current students and recent graduates reach their fullest potential. The support you provide could take several forms:

  • Alumni ambassadors
  • Alumni career advisers and student mentors
  • Guest speakers or expert commentators
  • Gifts and Legacies

Alumni ambassadors

Our alumni ambassadors provide proof of what a CRC qualification can offer with hard work and commitment. They play an instrumental role in promoting the college or a particular course to prospective students and their sponsors or parents.

Support from our alumni ambassadors takes many different forms: from participating at student recruitment events, to providing profiles and testimonials or offering existing students an insight into a particular industry and career.

Register your interest in becoming an alumni ambassador.

Alumni career advisers and student mentors

By acting as a career adviser, student mentor or simply returning to participate in one of our career and employability events, our alumni help us inspire existing students and recent graduates about the various opportunities open to them, some of which they may not have previously considered.

The advice and insight our alumni can provide on ‘how they made it’ helps us to boost career prospects and morale, particularly when many of our alumni have achieved outstanding success in their chosen profession.

Register your interest in becoming an alumni career adviser or student mentor.

Guest speakers or expert commentators

The College holds a number of events for students, alumni and occasionally the general public. We are always interested in hearing from alumni who would be happy to participate in these as guest speakers or expert commentators.

We would also love to hear from all alumni interested in contributing an article or editorial comment to our annual magazine.

Register your interest in becoming a guest speaker or expert commentator.

Gifts and Legacies

The financial support our alumni offer has a huge impact on the College and donations help us offer support and scholarships to current students.

For more information on how your financial support can make a difference, please visit the gifts and legacies pages.

Gifts and legacies play a really important role in making CRC the great college that it is. If you would like to make a donation there are a number of ways to do it. Take a look below to find out more.

Christ The Redeemer College has charitable status, which means that gifts made by UK income tax payers can be made tax efficient. You can find out more about the Gift Aid Scheme, along with higher rate tax savings here.

Book donations are welcome. Click here to view a list of recommended and essential books you could donate to the college.

Donating securely online, via JustGiving

Legacies

The College is very grateful to receive legacies from its generous alumni and friends. The legacies we receive are put to great use for our students, including providing bursaries. If you would like further information about how to leave a legacy, please contact the CRC accountant by telephone on +44 (0) 20 8429 4356.

For more information on donating a legacy, please visit the HM Revenue and Customs website.

Donating by Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving allows you to make a donation to a charity directly from your pay or pension. The payment is made after National Insurance contributions, but before Income Tax. This means that you get tax relief on your donation immediately.

You can make a donation by authorising your employer or pension provider to deduct a set amount from your salary or pension income. For further advice or help for employers and employees please contact the Charities Trust or visit the HM Revenue and Customs website.

Shares

If you want to donate shares to the College, you will need to complete a stock transfer form in order to take the shares out of your name and put them into Christ The Redeemer College’s name.

For more information, please read the HM Revenue and Customs guide to giving shares to a charity.

Gift Aid

By completing a Gift Aid Tax Declaration you can increase the value of your donation by nearly one third, at no additional cost to you.

You can add almost a quarter to the value of your gift under the Gift Aid Scheme by completing the Gift Aid Tax Declaration on your donation form. Under this scheme, when an individual makes a donation and is a UK tax payer, the organisation receiving the gift can claim the income tax which the donor has paid on the value of the gift from the Inland Revenue. This means that for every £1 you give, the College can reclaim 25 pence from the Inland Revenue (at current rates of income tax, together with Gift Aid relief).

For example:

Gift amount – £100
Total amount received by the College if Gift Aid applies – £125.00

Visit the HM Revenue and Customs site for more information.

Higher rate tax payers

If you pay higher rate tax, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax (40 and/or 50 per cent) and the basic rate of tax (20 per cent) on the total ‘gross’ value of your donation to Christ The Redeemer College.

For example, if you donate £100, the total value of your donation to the charity is £125 – so you can claim back:

£25 – if you pay tax at 40 per cent (£125 × 20%)

£37.50 – if you pay tax at 50 per cent (£125 × 20%) plus (£125 × 10%)

You can make this claim from the Inland Revenue in the form of additional relief by showing the donation on your tax return.

In addition, under current legislation, any bequest to Christ The Redeemer College will be free from Inheritance Tax.

The generous gifts and support from our alumni, friends and business partners enable our students to benefit from a number of named scholarships, awards and prize funds.

If you or your company are interested in donating towards a Christ The Redeemer College scholarship or prize fund we would love to hear from you. To find out more, please contact the Head of Development and Stewardship by email or by telephone on +44 (0) 20 8429 4356.
