Apprenticeship – CRC2018-03-15T12:25:37+00:00

APPRENTICESHIPS

We deliver high quality, office-based apprenticeships, career support, vocational training services for individuals, businesses, governments and other providers.

We are:

  • Ofsted inspected
  • Widely accredited

Our Centre has a direct approval with the government’s Skills Funding Agency for apprenticeships and other programmes. We will provide apprenticeships and skills for employment programmes both directly and through a close-knit team of proven sub-centres.

TRAINING SERVICES

We provide professional and vocational qualifications to individuals, together with training needs analysis and solutions to businesses wanting to upskill their workforce.

Our Centre is a vocational training organisation with an emphasis on qualifications accredited by the major examination boards like CACHE. We also provide a wide range of training opportunities and services for other training areas.

Our services include:

  • A combination of workshop and online learning to minimise time out of the workplace
  • Work-based assessments actually in the workplace
  • Designated Assessors to guide learners through the qualification
  • Online e-portfolios system (with Quals Direct)
  • Assessors will liaise with the learners’ line manager on progress
  • Quality Assurance by our own Internal Quality Assurers
  • External Assurance by an External Quality Assurer from the Awarding Organisation
  • Nationally and internationally recognised Certifications
  • Consultancy – We are in regular touch with local Small and Medium Enterprises and open to contact from other organisations.

STAFFING

We have competent and qualified staff based at the Main Centre and other centres to support all our learners. In addition, we have career guidance advisers.

OPEN DAYS / CAREER FAIRS

These are regular, periodic meetings with all stakeholders which can be office, phone-line or online based. The primary aim is to look into possible improvements of assessment and verification standards for the centres and partners (levied/non-levied employers) activities. This way, good standard is maintained all-through by providing a forum to address methods of assessment, types of evidence, feedback to learners, employers and generally share good practice.

BE AN APPRENTICE

WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?

An apprenticeship is a job that includes both on the job and off the job training. Being an apprentice is an investment in your future career: you agree to earn slightly less than you would in an equivalent non-apprenticeship job and to work hard on both academic and non-academic elements. In return, you receive training which will help you to develop both your career and your personal and professional confidence and skills. At the end of your apprenticeship, you undertake an independent assessment at which you can achieve a pass, merit or distinction.

All the while you will be earning rather than incurring college/university debt.

APPRENTICESHIP LEVELS

LEVEL 2: A level 2 apprenticeship is equivalent to GCSEs.

LEVEL 3: A level 3 apprenticeship is the equivalent of A levels.

LEVELS 4 and 5: Levels 4 and 5 apprenticeships are the equivalent of a foundation degree.

LEVELS 6 and 7: Levels 6 and 7 apprenticeships are the equivalent of a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

AN EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE

An Apprenticeship is a real job with training. It provides a unique opportunity for you to earn, learn and gain a qualification as a valuable part of a workforce. More and more people are realising the benefits of Apprenticeships, over universities or jobs.

Apprenticeships combine on-the job learning provided by employers with off-the job under pinning knowledge provided by training providers. They offer the latest, interactive methods of learning and training programmes targeted to meet employers’ needs whilst developing apprentices to confident professionals. These nationally recognised qualifications are a great way to build up your qualifications whilst getting commercial experience and most are fully funded by the government or/and employers, meaning you stay debt free!

Apprentices learn while working, asking questions and getting feedback from their on-the job mentors as well as tutor/assessor visiting the work place. You can start at the equivalent of a GCSE, right the way up to degree level.

Whether you are a GCSE or A Levels student with prior work experience or not, we can help you manage your career development.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – HIGHER APPRENTICESHIP (LEVEL 5)

FIND AN APPRENTICE

APPRENTICESHIPS AND YOU

Apprenticeships are a Government funded scheme designed to fill a vocational skills gap for people in the labour market.

Why would an organisation take on an apprentice?

  • It is evident that employers who employ apprentices agree that they make their workplaces more productive
  • Employers who employ apprentices believe that Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce
  • Employers who employ apprentices rely on their Apprenticeships program to provide the skilled workers that they need for the future
  • More employers are hiring more apprentices to help them through the tough economic climate.

Apprentices are normal employees but the employer commits to providing on the job training and letting the apprentice attend educational workshops after an initial burst.

In return the employer is allowed to flex the apprentice’s pay structure and the government makes a contribution towards costs. More importantly the employer gains satisfaction of knowing they are contributing to creating an up-skilled workforce.

An apprenticeship is a commitment for between one and a half and two years for both apprentice and employer, so we take great care to match the right apprentice with the right job training. This in turn means employee retention and lower recruitment costs. For the existing workforce, apprenticeships are a way to develop professionally and fulfil new ambition. A skilled and motivated workforce increases the company’s productivity and provides consistent quality service to customers.

Our wealth of expertise will be applied in developing staff for employers in the areas of Care Industry and Business Administration, in Advanced and Intermediate Apprenticeships schemes.

We offer cost-effective employer-led programmes to nurture existing employees and attract the best talents in:

  • Business & Administration
  • Customer service
  • Health & Social Care
  • Childcare
  • Functional Skills
