HND COMPUTING AND SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
On successful completion of the programme you will be awarded a BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Computing and Systems Development.
This programme will provide you with a range of skills in a technological and management context. It is highly relevant to a range of careers in the IT sector such as information system design and management, IT manufacturing, IT maintenance and technical services areas, e-business strategy and/or technical support, systems analysts, software engineers and developers.
Course Content (Modules)
The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Computing & Systems Development (QCF) is a qualification Comprises of 16 units with a minimum of 240 credits of which 65 credits are mandatory core.
The units are assessed using a variety of assignments, class based activities and presentations. Students’ progress will be identified as referral, pass, merit or distinction

24 months (if starting from HNC)
12 months (if progressing from HNC)
The entry requirements for our Level 4 programs are:
Students must be 18 or over
2 A Levels or AVCEs at Grade ‘C’ or above or 4 AS Levels at Grade ‘C’ or above.
or BTEC National Certificate
or the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of 24 points
or the European Baccalaureate (EB) with a minimum of 60 points
or the German Abitur with a minimum overall grade of 2.0 (subject grades of 12, 11or 10)
or a comparable qualification from another Educational System
Any students considered to be eligible for exemptions for prior study, must first have this confirmed by the awarding body of the programme they have applied for
English Language Requirements
European/international students are required to demonstrate suitable levels of English competence, the equivalent of CEFR Level B1 in all four components (reading, writing, listening & speaking) dependant on the programme applying for, see English language requirements on UKBA Website http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/

What Can I Do Next
After successful completion of the Higher National Diploma students is eligible for entry onto the final year of the any UK University BA (Hons) Degree in Computing. They will improve on the knowledge they have gained during this course and progress up the business pathway on to graduate level, and upon completion receives a full BA (Hons) Degree.
